Cairo Holiday Weather Overview

Cairo’s climate is a desert climate, which remains mostly dry and arid year round. The hot weather in Cairo means that the humidity can rise at times, particularly during winter (December to February). At this time precipitation is more likely, and temperatures drop to 13 to 19 °C. Cairo weather in the summertime (May to August) sees temperatures of 45 to 47 °C.

 

 

Cairo, the capital of Egypt and the largest city in the Arab world and Africa, goes through a desert climate that features only two seasons both of which are just different version of summers.

 

March to April

 

In these months of the year Cairo experiences harsh sandstorms created by strong winds. The period becomes awfully dusty to go outside. The average high of the time stands around 30°C while the low at 19°C. During this period Cairo receives more than ten hours of sunshine.

 

May to August

 

During this time temperature in Cairo remains very hot with the average high of 37°C. Although the sweltering summer and zero rainfall often appear somewhat horrible to tourists, the low humidity makes the heat almost bearable. However, people frequently visit the city even in this period to enjoy flights and accommodation at cheaper rate.

 

September to March

 

Throughout this period thousands of visitors arrive from different part of the world to enjoy the stunning beauty of Cairo. The season provides much temperate and enjoyable weather when temperature fluctuates between 15°C and 25°C. From early September to late November Cairo receives a little rainfall. Moreover the last month of the year comes with cooler temperature with the average high of 12°C-15°C while the low stands at 7-8°C. February and March are considered as the best months to travel Cairo. The period sees more than seven hours of sunshine.
